To delete the registry values

Caution: Back up the registry before performing these steps.

From the Windows search box or Run command, type regedit.exe, and click OK.

The Registry Editor opens.

Navigate to the following registry keys, one at a time:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Session Manager

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet001\Control\BackupRestore\KeysNotToRestore

In each key, delete any "PendingFileRenameOperations" values.

Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update

Delete any "Reboot Required" values.

Additional steps for Windows desktop OS installations

Navigate to the following registry keys, one at a time:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NAV Alert

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NAV Auto-Protect

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NAVENG

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\navroam

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NAVEX15

In each key, delete any "PendingFileRenameOperations" values.

In each key, delete any "DeleteFlag" value that equals dword:00000001.

Close Registry Editor.

Run the client installation again.
